Grilled Salmon Recipe

This Grilled Salmon recipe requires the fish to be marinated for 4-5 hours before you can grill it.

This helps the flavors to seep in the fish.

These marinades are of Indian flavors (you can use a marinade of your choice).

You can also use any other fleshy fish for this grilled fish recipe.

The ingredients for grilled salmon steaks are

  • 6-8 Salmon steaks

For the red marinade (tandoori masala marinade)

  • 200 ml yogurt
  • 3 Tsp Tandoori masala powder (ready made from the supermarket)
  • Salt to taste

  • 2 Tsp Ginger-Garlic paste
  • ½ Tsp Lime juice
  • 1 Tsp oil

Place a sieve (with a thin net), on a bowl.Put the yogurt in the sieve and leave for an hour or so.The water from the yogurt will collect in the bowl.

Discard the water, use half of the creamy yogurt left in the sieve (save half for the second marinade). Mix the rest of the ingredients in it.

Take half of the salmon steaks and rub this marinade on both sides. Set aside for 4-5 hours.

For the green marinade (coriander marinade)

  • 6-10 mint leaves
  • 2-3 green chilies (to taste)
  • 2 Tsp Ginger-Garlic paste
  • 1 Tsp Oil
  • Salt to taste
  • ½ Tsp lime juice

Blend all the ingredients, including the saved yogurt to a smooth paste.

Apply this to the rest of the salmon steaks. Leave aside for 4-5 hours.

Grill the steaks 5-6 minutes on each side, until fish is cooked. Baste with left over marinade and some oil in between.
