Potato Raita Recipe



Potato Raita recipe also called aaloo raita, is a good and healthy way of eating potatoes. This recipe is very easy to make and tastes delicious. If you are a potato fan, you will like this recipe. Raita is a yogurt based Indian recipe. Kids also love this.

It is a good accompaniment to a rice, meat or vegetarian dish.

The ingredients required are as follows

  • 2-3 medium boiled potatoes
  • 500 gm yogurt (low fat)
  • 1 Tsp roasted cumin powder
  • ½ Tsp dried mint
  • Salt to taste
  • ¼ Tsp red chili powder (to taste)
  • freshly ground pepper to taste

Peel the boiled potatoes and using your hand crush them in uneven pieces (some small and some large).

Use a balloon whisk to mix the yogurt and salt, until smooth.

Add the potatoes and stir well. Transfer in a serving bowl. Now sprinkle the rest of the ingredients on top to form a design. Chill in the refrigerator. Mix well before serving.

This is a very filling, tasty, oil free and totally healthy raita.
